[misc] Back from vacation

I'm back in the real world. I had a couple full-day meetings my first days back (joy) and now I finally have time to catch up on all the normal work I missed during the vacation.

I didn't do a lot of the things I thought I would. Make pasta? Sure. More than once? No. Ain't nobody got time for that. Weaving? No. Knitting? Sure. I even finished a couple things. Gardening? Yes, but it was really only about 25% of all the gardening I needed to do. But I did demolish the old fire pit and built a new one.

It was fantastic weather nearly the entire time. My uncle gave us an old hammock frame a long time ago and one of the first things I did was drag it down from above the garage. There is an area of lawn that gets morning/noon sun but by 2 or 3 pm, it's in shade under maple trees. I've always wanted to put a picnic table or something here but then it would just be something that would have to be moved when it was time to mow... and it would never be moved, so it would be mowed around... you see where this is going.

But a lighter, more movable hammock frame? That would be perfect. I had the frame- I just needed a hammock. Ordered one from Amazon and two days later:

Looks like I’m not getting any more outdoor work done today...

Oh. yeah.

Omg the WiFi even reaches the hammock. I’m never leaving.

The WiFi even reaches the hammock. My vacation schedule was: 6am(ish) get up, work outside until noon, shower, lunch, putter... until the hammock is in shade. Then it was hammock time.

And more hammock time:

My days are now just counting down the hours until the hammock is in shade.

Hammock time

I'm just saying... the hammock is my new favorite place. I'm not leaving it outside- I do roll it up (and secure it closed with a couple bungee hooks at either end) and keep it in the garage. I can't wait until the fall and cool weather- I'm bringing a blanket outside and hammocking under covers. That will be awesome!
